Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for a way to get involved in your community, to meet new people, and to have fun in the process? The Museum is now accepting volunteers! We have programs and activities for volunteers of all ages and abilities. Here are just a few of the options available:
- Greeting: Welcome visitors to The Museum and give a brief overview of the current exhibits.
- Electrical Maintenance and Repair: Help with lighting and wiring.
- Gardening: Tend to our beautiful Railroad Historical Center garden.
- Window Design: Update our front window with designs that match current exhibits.
- IT : Keep our phones and computers glitch free
- Storytelling: Read stories to children during seasonal events such as our Polar Express Party.
- After School Enrichment (Grades K4-1): Storytelling and crafts with children once a month.
- After School Enrichment (Grades 2-4): History/Natural Science lesson and activity with children once a month.
- Volunteer Coordinator: Coordinate the hours and activities of The Museum’s numerous volunteers.
- Oral History Project: Assist in this fantastic project.
- Weekly Projects: Volunteer at The Museum once a week and help with current projects.
- Graphic Design: Help design our brochures, pamphlets, and other promotional materials.
- Collections/Archives: Help organize and catalogue our Collections and Archive areas.
- Event Set-up and Clean-up: Staff events and exhibit openings.
- Construction/Maintenance/Repair: Keep our facility and exhibits at their best!
- Tour Guides: Give tours at our Railroad Historical Center.
- Scout Coordinator: Develop badge programs for Boy and Girl Scouts.
